Bride & Groom; please join hands and face each other.
We are assembled here in the sight of God and in the presence of these witnesses to celebrate the wedding vows of Bride and Groom. Marriage is an honorable estate, instituted by God!
In I. Corinthians 13:4-8, the Holy Scriptures gives us a picture of the love of Christ for his church as an example for your devotion. This is recorded by the Apostle Paul in his letter to the Corinthians. It reads:
“Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way, it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.
Into such a union you are joining here today, and you have come together to pledge those vows and promise to be true to one another!
Bride and Groom, please face each other and join hands.
Groom, repeat after me: I stand before you and make a promise. I take your hand as my partner. Bride, I take you this day, and for all days as my wife.
Groom, do you promise to live with Bride in the holy estate of matrimony? Do you promise to love her, comfort her, serve her, honor her and keep her, in sickness and health; and forsaking all others, continue to keep yourself only unto her, so long as you both shall live?
Bride, repeat after me: I stand before you and make a promise. I take your hand as my partner. Groom, I take you this day, and for all days as my husband.
Bride, do you promise to live with Groom in the holy estate of matrimony? Do you promise to love him, comfort him, serve him, honor him and keep him, in sickness and health; and forsaking all others, keep yourself only unto him, so long as you both shall live?
Bride “I do.”
Minister: May I have your rings, please? Groom, will you, take a wedding ring and place it on the third finger of your wife’s left hand? Please repeat after me.
Bride, I give you this ring. Wear it always as a reminder of my constant faith in you and my abiding love for you.
Bride, please place this ring on the third finger of Groom’s left hand and please repeat after me.
Groom, I give you this ring. Wear it always as a reminder of my constant faith in you and my abiding love for you.
Minister: Let us pray. May the Lord God bless, preserve and keep you. We thank you for this man and woman and the love and faithfulness they have given each other and for the pledge that they have made today. We ask that you send your blessing upon them as they look forward to many more years together. Look graciously upon them that they may continue to love, honor and cherish each other and live together in faithfulness. Bless their home that it may be a haven for them and a place of peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Groom and Bride, weddings are beautiful! It is our prayer that you will be together for years and still love and respect one another. Your relationship will grow stronger with every passing year. May you continue to enjoy each other and the friendship that you share for many years to come!
